The other day, I said I was going to focus on food for a while. It is just too important of a topic to ignore. The first thing to do is to clean out your pantry and go through your fridge. Get rid of anything that isn’t helping your body. I believe in using food as fuel. It is the best possible source for a healthy and happy body. I don’t do “diets”. Eating clean is not a diet, it is a way of life and you will love it the more you dive into it.
Eating clean is the practice of eating whole, natural foods such as: fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and complex carbohydrates. It also means staying away from processed food as these contain man-made sugar, bad fats (hydrogenated, trans-fat), preservatives, and any other ingredients that are unnecessary.
An easy way to remember if a food is clean is: “if man made it, don’t eat it.”
Here are some Steps, Rules, Guidelines (whatever you want to call them, they are here to help you.)
- Eliminate refined sugar & hydrogenated fats
- Cook clean meals
- Pack clean meals & prep food for work
- Drink plenty of water
- Eats 5-6 small meals per day (every 2-3 hours)
- Eliminate alcohol
- Always eat breakfast
