People are now reading nutrition labels on foods more than ever. While the intentions are great, I think most everyone is reading the wrong things on the label. Calories, fat, and sugar are all important, but the most important thing anyone should care about is the ingredients. The fewer things listed, the better. You should know what everything is. If you are reading a bunch of items that you have never heard of or can barely pronounce, I’d be willing to bet it is something chemically engineered that is toxic for your body.
It doesn’t matter if there is only 1 gram of sugar or if the product is now fat-free. If the natural ingredients were substituted with a bunch of chemicals that the body is not meant to break down, you may be better off having the natural, healthier versions.
When you avoid processed artificial foods and fuel your body with fresh natural fruits and vegetables, your body detoxes itself. Many of us wouldn’t feel weekly or monthly need to do a “cleanse” or “detox”. The next time you think about doing a cleanse, do yourself a favor and eat some raw vegetables.
