6 pita pocket bread rounds, cut in half
12 tablespoons garlic and herb cream cheese spread
3 tablespoons olive oil
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper
Prepare grill for cooking over medium heat.
Cut pita bread rounds in half. Spread 1 tablespoon cheese in each pita half.
Combine oil, salt and pepper. Brush both sides of each bread half with oil mixture.
Place bread halves on grill. Grill, uncovered, 1 1/2 – 2 minutes on each side or until lightly browned, turning occasionally.
Cut bread halves into wedges and serve.
THESE ARE SOOO GOOD!!! I love when I discover a healthy version for something that I like even more than the classic calorie dense versions. Forget ever going back to full fat and greasy cheese bread. These deliver so much flavor and so yummy. We actually had them 2 days in a row now. Great to pair with a salad. This recipe makes enough pita bread for about 6 people. I make it for two by just cutting back on proportions, its pretty easy.
